Working on Procedures

We continue to work on procedures (writing instructions) in class. Today we worked as a whole class planning out a procedure (shared writing) and then students got to practise completing a plan in partners.

In our writers' workshop, we went over a couple of the features of procedures:
1. Writing in the 2nd person (I referred to this as writing bossy sentences).
2. Using transition words (first, second, third, next, finally etc.) to help indicate the order of the instructions.
