To plan our persuasive writing, I introduced a plan to help organise students' ideas. It follows the format: What opinion or belief do you have? Why? (reason to support opinion) Why? Why? What was that again? (restating your belief). We used that answer sandwich to plan a persuasive piece of writing as a class. It begins with an introduction, followed by three strong reasons and details to explain those reasons and concludes with restating their belief or opinion. |
