Bald Eagles!!!!

What a terrific day of learning! Today I introduced students to the bald eagle webcams. The cameras are watching bald eagles in their nests on the west coast of Canada. The bald eagle we watched today was sitting on four eggs. The eggs should hatch any day now. Students got to watch the bald eagle on the projector. We discussed what they new about bald eagles and what they wanted to know. Then we visited the National Geographic Kids' site on bald eagles. Students researched facts about bald eagles and recorded their own jot notes on yellow stickies. Students are learning how to take down information without copying sections of texts. They will eventually be writing a report about eagles in their own words.
