This week students played a math adventure game called Treasure Hunt. Treasure Hunt is a PC point and click game I made where players must solve a series of math puzzles in order to proceed to the next level.

In the first challenge, students needed to solve a series of equations that were written on a wall. If they solved the equations correctly, they were given a key to open the first door in the game. Students had the choice to solve any (or all) of the equations.

In the next challenge, students needed to use the information on the right hand side of the wall to figure out the proper order to press the symbols on the grid.

In the final challenge, students uncovered, using a bit of gamer's intuition, a mysterious QR code on a wall in the game. Students then used an iPad to scan the QR code that launched a website. This was a challenging problem and students diligently worked together to figure it out (you can find the solution here).

Once student's figured out the answer, they punched in the number code to obtain the last key to unlock the final door.

The final screen brought lots of celebrations from the students!
