Today students were given a STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts Mathematics) task in MinecraftEDU.

Before the task was introduced, students had the chance to explore MinecraftEDU and get use to the control scheme.

We also decided on success criteria when collaborating with a partner. Students were told they would complete a self evaluation of their collaboration (Learning Skill) at the end of the activity:

The Task

First students were shown a series of sculptures as inspiration:

Next students were introduced to the STEAM task:

Students had 3 levels of the task to choose from. Each level took the task a step further and allowed for lots of creativity and ingenuity.

These students sculpted a waterfall!

These students sculpted a couple of dogs!

This student sculpted a bumble bee!

Here is a slideshow of our creations!
