Lego Stop Motion!

Today we did a stop motion STEAM challenge. STEAM challenges are great for promoting Learning Skills: responsibility, initiative, cooperation, organization, independent work habits and self regulation.

Today's project really emphasized organization. Students had to come up with a plan and implement it within a particular time frame. Every body was successful at doing this!

Each student created their own short film, demonstrating excellent independent work habits. Students also have to be responsible with their materials (and their time), and initiate a creative project. That means they need to take initiative to see their project through from the initial brainstorm to its final product.

Comments from our Principal, Ms. Walsh

Hi Mr.Johnson and the Grade 3 class. Thank you so much for sharing your latest awesome project. I really think you showed lots of perseverance and discipline putting this together. I bet you had to work as a team and collaborate. What a cool thing to share with other classes and your parents. Keep up the tremendous effort. I wish I could spend more time in your class. It always looks fun - and I think you are learning lots.
