Using The Edge Of Space As A Writing Prompt

Yesterday, a student presented a did you know fact, from the Barefoot Atlas App, that space begins at an altitude of approximately 120 kms. This led to a lively discussion about the edge of space.

Students walked into class this morning and saw the picture below on the projector screen with the lights dimmed and the theme music from 2001 A Space Odyssey playing in the background. When the class settled down, I showed the Felix Baumgartner's parachute jump from the edge of space.
