Mr. Johnson is getting ready for Art class and needs to find out how many crayons he has for his students. He finds 5 crayons on the floor and he added them to the 8 full boxes of crayons he had in his crayon bin.

 

Mr. Johnson started to count his crayons by starting to count the 5 loose crayons from the floor and then added each crayon box like this:

 How many crayons does Mr. Johnson have in total? Show your work.
