Students created, graphed and explained their growing patterns in partners (a couple of groups also did shrinking patterns). We sorted our work based on what the pattern rule was. Most used growing patterns of 1 or 2 which led to the discussion of try using a different pattern rule for the next activity. During the second activity, this group made a pattern that grew by 5s! |
