Exploring Triangles

Students in Grades 1 and 2 have been exploring the properties of geometric shapes. Students used geoboards to make a variety of triangles with different areas inside. They made triangles with zero, one and two pegs of the geoboard inside. Students recognized that triangles can differ in size and shape and they also discovered that by flipping, sliding, or rotating them, that triangles may be congruent (triangles that are the same size and shape).
