This week we watch the video book of A Splendid Friend Indeed. Students looked for picture clues (specifically at the bear's facial expression) to infer how the bear was feeling.
Some of the inferences students made were:
-The bear was wondering whether he should let the duck read the letter to him.
-The bear was thinking that the duck was annoying.
-The duck said "You are my splendid friend indeed," and the bear was thinking that was a nice thing for him to say.
-The bear was thinking he liked to write.
-The duck said "I like to write," and the bear was thinking that he hopes the duck goes away before he becomes angry.
