Learning About Non-Fiction Text Features with QR Codes

First students scanned a QR code and watched a nine minute video reviewing non-fiction text features.

Next students, with a partner, visited eleven different QR codes around the classroom and in the hallway. When they scanned the QR code with their iPad, it linked to a sample of a text feature. Students then recorded on a sheet what text feature it was and one thing they learned from the text feature.

When students were done, they scanned a final QR code. This QR code linked to the National Geographic Kids website where they applied their knowledge of text features when reading articles about a variety of animals.
