Students have been working on solving problems that involve growing shape patterns. First students (in partners) were given the problem below. Students used a 4 square approach for solving the problem (highlighting key words then using images, numbers and words to show their solution to the problem). Next, students were challenged to make a bar graph out of the growing shape pattern. We discussed afterwards (during consolidation) that graphs can make it easier to see patterns and trends.
