Descriptive Writing- Visualizing an Apple

Students have been working on descriptive writing. The other day students brainstormed words about apples that involved our senses: seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, feeling-touch, feelings (inside feelings-heart). Students shared and exchanged words they brainstormed (such as juicy, smooth, round, sour, sweet, ripe, fresh, crunchy etc.).

Today students wrote a descriptive paragraph about apples. Their goal was to use as many words from their brainstorming session as possible. Afterwards, students narrated their writing on the iPad using the Shadow Puppets (Puppets EdU) app.
